2009 Freshman Send Off Picnic

2009 Freshman Send Off Picnic

Sunday August 9th, the Southern New Jersey Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association will hold its annual Freshman Send-Off Picnic at Laurel Acres Park in Mount Laurel, NJ. Picnic will be held 1 PM – 5 PM.

Students and their families from Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties in this year’s incoming PSU freshman class are invited to join us for a day of fun, food, and Penn State camaraderie. Students going to any of the Penn State campuses are welcome.

At the picnic, we’ll have a welcome address from our chapter president, Jay Plunk. We will also hear from current Penn State students from the tri-county area. They will talk to us about their academic and campus life experiences at Penn State, and will be available to answer questions from incoming freshmen and their parents.

Freshmen and their families will be introduced to the Penn State family and leave with a taste of what the Penn State culture is all about. The Penn State Alumni Association is the largest dues-paying alumni association in the United States. Come and see the benefits of creating lifelong friendships with fellow Penn Staters.

As always, Chef Nick will be barbequing. Attendees are not required to bring anything. However, if you wish, you may bring a salad, side dish, or dessert.

For more information or to volunteer, please contact Jay Plunk at law4u@comcast.net or (609) 702-5878.

Please join us for a day of Penn State fun! Hope to see you there!
